Sleep
Getting enough sleep is critical for our bodies to recover from the many stresses of everyday life. Considering our skin is the largest organ of the human body (covering 20 square feet on average), sleep is crucial to keeping it healthy and allowing it to manage itself.
Hydration
Ample amounts of water each day are vital to overall health. Besides aiding digestion, circulation, and absorption, water can also eliminate toxins from the body.
Cleanser.
Any skincare routine should begin with face cleansing, as this removes impurities and excess oil that clog pores and dull skin.
Toner
Toner isn't a necessity, but it can be a nice way to refresh skin, remove residual debris, and balance pH. If you have acne-prone skin, be sure to look for toners that contain salicylic acid to eliminate breakouts. Toner (or its sister, essence), formulated without drying alcohol and with soothing ingredients like glycerin and hyaluronic acid, is ideal for dry or sensitive skin.
Serums
formulated for specific skin issues can protect and treat your skin. Gold-standard vitamin C can have a huge impact on skin health. Sun and pollution can damage our skin, but vitamin C can help reverse some of that damage. "some skin tones often have issues with hyperpigmentation, so you might want to use a vitamin C serum in the morning to help fade those dark spots."

Eye Cream
The best eye creams are also treats. Consider lightly tapping a formula tailored to your eye concerns with your ring finger (your weakest) to avoid tugging at delicate skin.
Moisturizer
It is then time for heavier formulas such as moisturizers, which help protect and hydrate the skin. When you're wearing makeup in the daytime, choose a lighter moisturizer such as a cream or gel that absorbs quickly and won't cause your makeup to pill. Consider a thicker formula, like a cream, if your skin is dry. It's important to look for skin-retaining ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid.
Sunscreen
For all skin types and ages, it's the most important step in any skincare routine. "If you don't apply sunscreen, you might as well not do any of the other steps,
The sun is the number one reason people’s skin ages prematurely. “Plus, if you’re treating hyperpigmentation without daily SPF use, it’s like taking two steps forward and one step backward.”
Smooth on a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher face sunscreen as the last step in your morning skincare routine, including on your neck and the backs of your hands. Heads up: Protecting your skin from the sun is important even if you're spending your days indoors, as UV rays can penetrate through the windows.
